Yesterday Delhi Daredevils faced two opponents in Kings XI Punjab and the Weather God which ensured that they concede a defeat with reference to the Duckworth-Lewis method. Earlier Virender Shewag started off his batting blitzkrieg alongwith Gautam Gambhir only to be censored by rains and which never found the rhythm and fire after the match resumed.

Many of you must be hating the Duckworth-Lewis maths - tell me what would have been a ideal solution in such a situation ... a replay or a postponement of the match...

well real misfortune for Daredevils!!!!
Even the stage when game was called off, was crucial. There wasn't heavy rain & match could have gone on.
Well i feel Delhi had Some badluck in no. of matches here.
Yeah richards , u asked a gud question. As the situation was crunch for both the teams, i would say postponement wasn't right thing. May be a replay would have given a better oppurtunity to both the teams to perform their best

yeah Richards i agree with Cricklove
A replay was by far the best option
now Delhi feel undone by the weather as Daredevils started with a bang but later landed on the wrong side, thnx to Rain gods & Sehwag's one over

Nothing seems to be going the delhi way these days and when everything goes well, ie sehwag and gambhir firing in the top order, the rains have different plans. at this stage of the tournament when every match and every point is so crucial for teams to get thru to the next level i guess areplay of the match should be the best alternative but with the pack jammed schedule it doesnt seem possible as it would mean back to back games for the team.
probably such matches could be kept for later and be played before the semi finals delaying the sf matches.

Well, That is quite a bizarre thing to do. Sequence of playing the matches should not be altered as it will give unfair advantage to teams playing at the end which is not as per the original agreed upon playing schedule.

if the matches had to be replayed than the sf could be kept in such a way as to have reserve days for the games that might get washed away.

rain has really been unfair to the teams specially delhi and kkr who were really hoping on these matches for a semi final berth.
