Check this news, Pepsi has won the rights (or should i say cola war)!
IPL taps Pepsi as official drink supplier for $12.5 million
19 March 2008
MUMBAI: The DLF Indian Premier League (IPL) has announced
that PepsiCo India has been chosen as the official beverage supplier in a deal worth $12.5 million for a five-year period.
Thus, PepsiCo beverages would be the only beverages served at all venues that would host the fifty-nine adrenalin-charged matches in the IPL.
DLF IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi said, “PepsiCo has a long history of supporting cricket in the subcontinent and to have them as our beverage suppliers for this league will give our cricket extravaganza a solid boost. It is indeed good to have PepsiCo back as an official supplier to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the DLF Indian Premier League.”
PepsiCo India marketing head Punita Lal said, “PepsiCo is proud to associate with the DLF Indian Premier League, which will not only redefine the game of cricket but also foster Indian cricket talent. DLF India Premier league and the new format will have a large youth audience which is a key target for our brands.”
Earlier, DLF had signed on as the title sponsor for the IPL while Hero Honda did a deal for associate sponsor. The IPL is also believed to be looking for an aviation partner. |

How do you say that pepsi is safe and cococola is unsafe. Both are carbonated drinks. Both was under investigation some month ago and are now banned in most of the educational institutions in India. There is no point in saying that its good for health. |

| well i would have preffered a brand that wouldnt have splashed their ads all over the place as thier is hardly any space on television during breaks, on players clothes and on grounds for any more advertisements, in that case pepsi is doing well as i dont see a lot of pepsi commercials during the over change breaks. |
