Match Review - Rajasthan Royals Vs Delhi Daredevils

This was a thrilling contest and with such matches happening more and more, one can so easily name this Indian Premier League a true blockbuster! Delhi never got going at the start but some late order blitz helped them post a decent total on board. The start for the Royals was no different as they too struggled to get out of the blocks early. Smith made desperate attempts to up the ante but fell soon. Watson never looked back and went on to blast yet another fifty. Just when we thought that it would be all too easy for the Royals, few wickets fell in a heap and things looked like taking a turn. But at the end, the ask wasn't daunting and the local team came up trumps.

Shane Watson is the Man of the Match for his blistering stint with the bat and a disciplined round with the ball and he also picked up the DLF Maximum Sixes Award.

My point is - this IPL tournament has now reached a stage when one cannot just go in with a powerful bat and ball - one is required to think and act and plan out a strategy for every match. Earlier i have expressed my doubt about Delhi team in absence of Virender Sehwag's bat - and twice in the last two matches it proved correct. Dhoni has managed to correct himself while both Shane Warne and Ganguly is putting in adequate mind in every match.

This is a tight cricket format and leaves very few room for errors. Hopefully we will see Delhi in a different shape and form in the next match Smile

It was one of the specialities of 20-20 cricket which we saw yesterday when Maharoof changed the route of innings in just one over by clubbing warne for 27 runs.

Yes, Delhi could have got this match if Viru maintained a bit of cool and went in with a strategy - they will need a lot more if they are to fight the Knight Riders with Ganguly and Hussey, Ishant, GUL and now Shoiab Akhtar ...

After all ... Knight Rider rulezz... SmileSmileSmile
