| There will be some favourite SA players missing in the first season of IPL. Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, Mark Boucher, Makhaya Ntini, Morne Morkel, AB de Villiers and Steyn will be missing the first week of IPL season. They have to play their domestic semi finals and the final matches. Hope they will be back strong. |

these players are too talented to be left out
i think it will affect the preparation of every team in IPL |

| They are going to be left out only for the first week. So am sure they will come back with their full strength after their domestic tournaments. Kallis stays here. So we can see his performance. |

There will also be most of the Australian players missing out on the second half of the tournament, as the West Indies tour commences on May the 16th.
The players who will be missing out on all games from May the 16th (Mumbai v Kolkata) and most likely earlier are:
Ricky Ponting
Matthew Hayden
Michael Hussey
Simon Katich
Brett Lee
Andrew Symonds
Nathan Bracken
David Hussey
Cameron White
So there goes pretty much all the Australian involvement. The West Indies tour finishes on the 6th on June which is of course well after the IPL ends, but Simon Katich should be avaliable after May 20 due to his non-involvement in the Australian one-day squad. |
