| Can anyone predict about the imposement of technology in umpiring? Does it degrade the values of an umpire? Because ICC has already decided to impose technology in the coming ODI matches. So can we expect the same in the IPL also.. Who knows and we have to wait. |

Actually I liked the new concept of challenging umpires decision introduced in ICL.
In this concept, a team can challenge umpires decision (maximum 3 challenges allowed in an innings) if it feels that it is not correct.
Then the 3rd umpire looks at replay and gives final verdict. |

well thats a great step i think!!!!
this will improve thw standard of umpiring & i don't see any wrong in advancement of technology in Cricket!!!
Umpire still is the boss but his mistakes should be corrected upon, after all it may cost someone's future as well |

Only downside maybe that it makes the Umpire look stupid if his decision turns out to be wrong one and gets revoked by 3rd umpire.
So most umpires will prefer to leave most decision making to 3rd umpire rather than going by their instincts and then later looking stupid. |

That's an good step forward.
After all umpires are human beings. They can't be right all the time. In case they have made a mistake this concept will give them the chance to correct that. |

| you cannot expect a human being to hit the right spots everytime, if we did not have the technology it was okay but now that we are equipped with technology to look at more closely the happenings of the match i find it in good favour to allow the third umpires to intervene in case something doesnt meet the ground umpires eye. also as suggested the icl system where the players can challenge the decisions is pretty good and is also satisfying for the player as he doesnt feel heated or being treated unfairly. |
