South Africa in Good Position at close in Chennai test
March 26th, 2008South Africa reached 304 for four at stumps after spinners
Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh chipped in with two wickets each in the
last two sessions.
Opener Neil McKenzie was out for
94 but led a solid top order display on day one of the first test
against India on Wednesday.
McKenzie added 132 runs for the opening wicket with skipper
Graeme Smith, who hit 73, before number three Hashim Amla took over
after South Africa won the toss and chose to bat.

Amla was 85 not out at stumps with AB de Villiers on 10, after
all rounder Jacques Kallis (13) and Ashwell Prince (23) failed to match the opening spirit.
