Indian premier League Match Preview
Deccan Chargers Vs Chennai Super Kings
It’s the last league game for both these teams. Hyderabad are languishing at the bottom of the table and this is their last chance to win a game at home. For Chennai, this is an extremely important game. A victory here and they will progress to the next round. Though Chennai start as favourites, they haven’t been in the best of form of late: A shock defeat at the hands of Bangalore, when they failed to chase a meagre 127 was followed by a 10-run defeat against Rajasthan.
What if Chennai lose today? If Chennai lose today and Mumbai win tomorrow, Mumbai will advance on account of better net run rate. (Chennai’s current NRR is -0.241 while Mumbai’s is +0.531). Should Mumbai lose tomorrow, Chennai will go through to the semis(Chennai are on 14 points, Mumbai are on 12)

Bangalore Royal Challengers: 156/8 (20.0 Ovs)
Deccan Chargers: 153/6 (20.0 Ovs)
Bangalore Royal Challengers won by 3 runs
Bangalore Royals Challengers batted first but could only set a target of 156 for Deccan Chargers. Deccan chargers had a great going with VVS laxman and Rohit Sharma until these two wicket fell - the others followed suit and the total innings crumbled until the very end when the Chargers tried to pull back.
Bangalore won by 3 runs with relied coming only in the last ball. Rahul Dravid was extra jubilant today for this much awaited win and the home crowd had their moments with fireworks and the presence of the franchisee owner Vijay Mallaya and the Bollywood babe katrina Kaif cheering for the team.
Praveen Kumar bagged 3 wickets for 23 runs to claim the man of the match award.

A clinical and perfect win for the Kings XI punjab who seem to have grown up much after the initial loses. This was the debutant match for Shaun Marsh who got going tonight and made sure that there are no hiccups in this run chase. He opened the innings for Kings XI and scored a superb knock of 84 off 62 balls with eleven fours and one six and remaining not out.
Earlier a brilliant knock by Rohit Sharma ( 76 out of 42 balls) saw Deccan Chargers pull up a total of 164 for 8 in 20 overs. He was the lone warrior for the Chargers and single handedly took them to a total which was at least challenging.
But Marsh played a stunner on his debut match and was well supported by Jayawardene, who played a fine cameo. With this win, Punjab are in 4th place in the points table. We have a great match tomorrow between Chennai and Delhi, the two teams who have looked the best in this league so far. So stay tuned to IPL Cricket Forum.
Deccan Chargers: 164/8 (20.0 Ovs)
Kings XI Punjab: 167/3 (18.5 Ovs)
Kings XI won by 7 wickets and seven balls to spare.

Deccan Chargers did not have a very good start losing early crucial wickets to great bowling by M Asif and one time there was a doubt that if they would even be able to achive a decent total of 100. However things changed a bit with Rohit Sharma firing 4 sixes and six fours in a short time. Deccan finished with a moderate score of 142 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Delhi Daredevils never seemed in presuure with just a single loss of Gautam Gambhir’s wicket in the early phase. Virender Sehwag and Shikhar joined forces and the partnership remained till the very end to see an win. Virender Sehwag hammered 94 with 10 boundaries and six sixes dominating the entire innings right through and reaching the target in just 13 overs. Laxman tried with all his bowlers but no one was spared. Even Andrew Symonds got three sixes and three fours in his last over. Sehwag really made the hard hitters like Dhoni, Yuvraj and others look small in front of this massive straight sixes today.
Delhi daredevils won by 9 wickets with Virender Shewag declared the Man of The Match.
